The English Bill of Rights- The English Bill of Rights was an act of Parliament of England which was passed on December 16, 1689. Parliament issued a Declaration of Rights and presented it to William and Mary. Mary's father King James II fled England because of the revolution, and was succeeded by his daughter and her husband. However, William and Mary of Orange did not have the chance to become king and queen unless they agreed to the English Bill of Rights that Parliament had proposed.
